Our team conducts research into the capital markets, global economic forces, asset classes, portfolio construction, risk management and individual managers. It’s the job of our Investment Policy Group to evaluate that research and set the strategic guidelines for our portfolios. Your individual advisor then customizes an investment plan that incorporates our strategic direction and your individual goals.

Daryl L. Deke

Principal/Chief Executive Officer

Daryl L. Deke is the founding principal and CEO of New Market Wealth Management, and has over 30 years of experience in the investment management business providing advice to some of the wealthiest families, largest corporations, endowments and foundations. He is also an entrepreneur having been involved in building a number of successful organizations in the financial services industry.

Prior to forming New Market Wealth Management, Daryl was Managing Partner, Alternative Investment Strategies, for Northern Trust. There, Daryl led the development of an exclusive North American partnership with Makena Capital, a preeminent firm utilizing endowment model style investing including innovative strategies involving the use of complementary, alternative investments. Previously, Daryl worked at Neuberger Berman and at Bernstein Global Wealth Management where he was Managing Director and Principal. At Bernstein, Daryl developed and ran the private client practices in Texas, California and the Southwest United States.

Daryl was one of the founding Principals of Atlantic Credit & Finance, Inc. and its subsidiary ACF Medical Services, Inc. Founded in 1996, Atlantic Credit & Finance was listed in the prestigious Inc. 500 as the 16th, 25th and 27th fastest growing privately held company in America for 2002, 2003 and 2004, respectively. Atlantic, Credit & Finance, Inc. was sold in 2014.

Daryl began his professional career as an Officer in the United States Air Force where he reached the rank of Captain as a Missile Combat Crew Commander. Daryl holds an M.S. in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas and a B.S. in Economics from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI). Daryl is the former Chairman of the Investment Committee and VMI Investment Holdings, Inc., for his alma mater, the Virginia Military Institute. In that capacity, Daryl helped create and implement a structure for managing risk that helped the school’s endowment reduce volatility and stabilize its income payouts—goals most individual investors share.

Sherry Delaney, CFP® CIMA®


As a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Investment Management Analyst, Sherry has spent her professional life providing clients with thoughtful, sophisticated investment and financial planning solutions. At AllianceBernstein Sherry ran the National Employee Communications Department and was responsible for educating and advising thousands of retirement plan participants on topics ranging from asset allocation, investment selection and saving for retirement. At AIG Financial Advisors and later at Northwestern Mutual Investment Services, Sherry’s focus was on wealth preservation, tax and risk management for wealthy families. As a principal at New Market Wealth Management, Sherry works with our clients, and their outside tax and legal professionals, to craft tailored, sophisticated solutions that address the realities of today’s markets, and our clients’ unique needs.

Ted Sweeney, CFA, CAIA

Director of Portfolio Management

Ted began his wealth management career working with ultra high net worth families and foundations at Bernstein Global Wealth Management in Washington, DC.  Ted left Bernstein to become an advisor and portfolio analyst with Merrill Lynch and later became the lead portfolio manager of a wealth management practice at Robert W. Baird & Co. in Scottsdale, Arizona. Ted has extensive trading experience and is well versed in portfolio management, specifically quantitative models. In his role at Baird, Ted created and managed an unconstrained, algorithmically traded investment strategy which allowed clients to take advantage of inefficiencies in the market. Ted is a graduate of Villanova University where he earned a B.S. in Economics and is a CFA Charterholder.

Stephen Nesbitt

Chief Executive Officer, Cliffwater LLC

Steve is Chief Executive Officer of Cliffwater LLC. At Cliffwater, Steve oversees all investment research as the firm’s Chief Investment Officer. Prior to forming Cliffwater in 2004, Steve was a Senior Managing Director at Wilshire Associates where he led the Consulting division and built its asset management business using a ‘manager of manager’ investment approach, including private equity and hedge fund-of-fund portfolios. Steve started his career at Wells Fargo Investment Advisors, an early pioneer in index funds, where he developed and managed index funds and oversaw asset allocation.

Steve is recognized for his investment research. His articles have appeared in the Financial Analysts Journal, The Journal of Portfolio Management, and The Journal of Applied Corporate Finance on issues covering performance fees, currency hedging, gauging private equity performance, and corporate governance. Steve conducts research on Asset Allocation and Portfolio Construction, covering over 30 years of annual long term expected returns and risk across asset classes. At Cliffwater, he has led research on the components of hedge fund return and risk and proper construction of a portfolio of hedge funds.

Steve graduated summa cum laude, with a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Eisenhower College (Rochester Institute of Technology), and an MBA, with Distinction, from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania.

Thomas K. Lynch, CFA®

Senior Managing Director, Cliffwater LLC

Tom is a Senior Managing Director of Cliffwater LLC. At Cliffwater, Tom is a member of the Portfolio Advisory Team. Prior to joining Cliffwater in 2008, Tom was a Senior Managing Director and principal of Wilshire Associates where he managed the firm’s private equity business for 17 years. Previous experience includes working for the New York Life Insurance Company, and serving on the advisory boards of numerous private equity partnerships.

Tom earned a BS in Finance from Boston College, his JD from Duquesne University School of Law and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
